Founders' Story
Meet Taylor & Midhula.
We're the co-founders of Sora Stays, and we've been best friends for over a decade. It started with a shared interest in real estate, each of us with our own investment properties in the GTA, and it quickly turned into a shared love of hosting.
We've travelled the world on our own, with our families, and together, and we've been to over 80 countries between us. In 2021, that love of real estate and travel came together when we bought a property as a team and set out to make it an outstanding experience for our guests. Welcoming guests, caring for beautiful spaces, and helping people make the most of wherever their travels take them is what we love to do.
It started with getting the small things right, so a family's first night at a cottage actually felt the way it should. We began managing a handful of properties for owners who cared about that as much as we do, and it grew from there. We originally called the business Sunrae Stays, a slightly silly mash-up of our two middle names. As it grew from a side project into something with real partnerships and close to 25 properties, we became Sora Stays in 2023. These days, we're selective about who we work with. We're looking for owners who care about the guest experience, and about how a space actually makes someone feel, the same way we do.
Taylor's background is in marketing and communications, and she loves working on the brand and guest experience side of the business. She also specializes in property website design and marketing, helping every property stand out and reach the right guests. Taylor lives in Toronto with her husband and daughter and is a frequent visitor to our Muskoka properties.
Midhula has an incredible eye for detail and makes sure every part of working with us meets our clients' expectations. She and her two young sons are temporarily in Austin for her husband's work.
